Gardening Today!

I'll be gardening today, it's well over due. I have a bed out back that I planted and didn't mulched, now it has weeds galore, so I'll be pulling weeds before I can mulch. I will be visiting with you guys a little before I get started. I've had a very busy week, now maybe I can get back into the swing of things. I do want to share the few Hydrangea plants that I have that are now in bloom. I've had a really hard time with them , because it's so hot, that is except for the big one.

This is the really big one, don't ask what it's called because I don't know. I just know that it's beautiful when it flowers and it's beautiful when the flowers turn brown as well. The flowers have turned kinda pink since this photo.

This is the blue one. There a really tall bush to the right of it, I'm using it to keep this and the next one you're going to see shaded. I've had a really hard time with these two.

This is the one that I've really had a hard time with, she's a little sad and has pink flowers, a few look white but, she gets most sun and she's trying to hang in there. Well this concludes the Hydrangea tour. Short, I know, and you probably didn't get your moneys worth but, what if you'd been on the J. Peterman's Reality Bus Tour :O) Snickers anyone?

Hi Deb,

I am way behind in my planting/weeding/mulching, too. (Among other things like housework!) I hope your weather is as beautiful today as ours is.

Hugs, JoAnne

Deb, hydrangeas are one of my favs, dahhhhling! They grew well for us in California but here in Idaho it's a bit of a struggle. I have 3 now but they aren't as big as the ones in Cal. I'll never give up on them though.

Come over to my blog and look at the news, sweet chickadee! We're doing a very nice giveaway and sale on it. Just come and read, sweetpea. Hah

Deb, your hydrangeas are fabulous. I'll post a photo in a day or two, of ours. They look pretty poor compared to yours!

Hydrangeas ~ my favorite!! The do NOT grow in Colorado..but I was wondering if they could handle the Florida heat..if you know..let me know!! It is hot for gardening..but necessary.

My brother lived in AL..it would be fun to meet you sometime when we go up to visit him. :)

Beautiful flowers. My yard is very plain. For one thing, if I plant something, the "person" who mows does just that, mows. I used to have some chives and I could always tell when they were being mown. I could smell them!

Thanks for your comment about God's Timing. Yes, the praise goes to Him. I felt so blessed that he allowed me to be there.

Your flowers look so pretty!! I haven't done much gardening due to my chickens...who are quite stinkers and like to eat all my plants!!! :)

Your flowers are just beautiful, Deb! But your whole yard is great. You definitely have a green thumb, so they say. :) I could use some help with my yard! :)

Any sign of the sign?? I left you a couple messages. Let me know. I'm a worryer and have been concerned. Thanks! Have a great day!

Just beautiful. I love hydrangeas too. Both the mopheads and the lacecap. It looks like you've got some of both.

Your post reminded me that I have a good bit of weeding to do before the weekend.

To Momtheword, you remind me that my husband used to always just get out there and cut, cut, cut, and would always cut my flowers as if he thought they were weeds. My daughter still teases me about it from time to time because I cried each time he did it. Now he knows what's what and leaves them alone.Deb

Hi Deb! I love hydrangeas! I have a couple, but they really don't do all that well. I'm not sure why. They seem very picky. Mine are all blueish, but I'd love to have a white one. So pretty!

Deb. I understand there are a few men who are actually gardeners! :)

Thanks for your comment. He does play with Jarrod most days (they've become best buddies.)Actually, I hit the wrong key and posted before I finished the story so if you get a chance, stop back and see what Michael was really sad about. Hugs, JoAnne

Your flowers look great!

It doesn't take long to get behind on weeding around here. I try to pull some up everytime I pass by and see them so they don't get out of hand...but you know how that goes!

I love your frog..and have a friend that would just love to have him! She collects frogs out in her garden area! He's very charming!

Those hydrangeas are gorgeous. Mine are new plant from last year ... just 2 feet high. I hope they grow up to be like yours!
