Let Me Tell You What A Good Cleansing Will Do!

Remember I told you I had just loads of things that I should be doing , well this is just one of my projects? I cleaned my clothes closet. This is the before. I had quite a few things on the top shelf, pillows, blankets, sheets, and the shoes were kinda tossed in. I hated it! So I went to work.

Now I just feel better about myself, knowing that I'm not a total sluggard and that I do want to be clean. I'm just the type of person that when I find something that I enjoy, I just enjoy it maybe a little too much, and it gets in the way of what I should be doing. Yes that's a mini fridge, my husband would wake in the middle of the night thirsty from all that (snoring) lol!!! and have to go all the way to the other end of the house for a drink of water, so we just put it right within his reach. I want to add that he's not alone on the snoring, we both work for the same company. I just don't need water. LOL!!!!

Look at the top shelf compared to the first picture above. Yes I know I could have tidied up the clothes but, that will have to be a work in progress. Just like me, Okay!!!

Let me tell you about me. While cleaning out one of my old purses, I found an envelope that had my name on it!

When I opened it, there were two dollars in it. I tried to remember where it came from but couldn't so I just said, thank you Lord, and considered it a blessing!

It was certainly not a lot, but it seems that when ever we find a little that we didn't know we had it always brings a small level of excitement. Well, while thinking to myself that it was a blessing, it brought back the memory of a time before I'd given my life to Christ. I'd gone to the store one day and the cashier gave me back too much change, I'd considered that a blessing too. I can remember saying to someone "girl, I was down to my last ten dollars and didn't know what I was going to do about money til payday, and the cashier gave me back change for a twenty, "the Lord sure is good, He knew that I needed that money, and came through for me". Shameful! to even think that way, I can't believe that I didn't even consider it stealing which was what it was. It was not my money, I should have given it back but, thank you Lord for your GRACE, you could have struck me down and let me die in my sin, but you chose to save me Lord, a long time ago. After I found Jesus, I realized that I was dead wrong for that, among other things I had done. A whole laundry list of things. The devil is forever busy, the word of God says, in 1 Peter 5:8,

Be of sober spirit, be on the alert Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

About two months ago I was in Walgreens, the cashier gave me back the amount of the bill instead of the change. I said excuse me but you gave me the incorrect change, at first she looked at me with anger as if I was telling her that she owed me money but, when she looked at the receipt and saw that she'd given me too much she thanked me and said that money would have come out of her check. Then I thought to myself that if she had made many mistakes she could have possibly lost her job.

I was so thankful to the Lord that he changed me, and that I can be a blessing to someone by showing that there are people that do the right thing because they believe in a God that says it's the right thing. He forgives our past when we've done the wrong things over and over again. Thank you Jesus for YOUR WONDROUS GRACE, for washing me, forgiving my sins, and giving me YOU to hope for. I love you Jesus, I need you in my life. Your word makes me a better person, day by day.

But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) Ephesians 2:4-5

How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered! Psalm 32:1

Purify me with Hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow -Psalm 51:7

Hi Deb....oh groan!...now you have reminded me of another procrastinated job I have to do ...LOL...I have also been guilty of the too much change back thing, but like you said, it was before I gave my life to God.

Your closets look great Deb!!! I too feel better when things are in order!! Its amazing how people react when you are honest these days, they can't believe anyone would be honest especially when it comes to money!! I went to one of my favorite stores and they didn't charge me for a 35.00 item and my sister was like what a blessing and I said no I can't do that I have to call them and let them know and when I did the owner was shocked that I would call and pay for it over the phone, but I would not have been able to sleep if I didn't!!! Have a great day!!~Wendy

I know when I clean my closet you can barely get threw the door. The bed is a heaping mess along with the floor. My husband is amazed by the end of the day it is all back in place...just wish it would stay that way! It's a lot of work but it puts a smile on your face every time you open your closet door (until it gets messy again) :o)

Great work on the closets Deb! Oh my, I think it would take me a solid week to get my closet in order. Yikes! But it sure would make my hubby happy since he trips over the shoes I have all over the closet floor!

Great job Deb. I think it's time for a good cleansing here too.

I used to find money in my couch. Now days we use the debt card more and less change. Isn't it fun to find money?

Deb, your closets are lookin' good! Wanna come do mine? They need it bad, but unforunately, it's not high on my priority list (yet)! I love a clean closet and always plan to keep it that way...I'm not sure what happens along the way!

Finding money is always a blessing, no matter how little! We recently cleaned behind our washer and dryer and found lots of coins there which added up to more than you'd think...a blessing!

We do the same thing..and I've taught my kids....about telling someone if they give you even a nickel over what they should. One time Colt found $20 on the parking lot at Walmart. He took it in and told the lady at the Service Desk. She said she'd keep it for 30 days and if no one claimed it, she'd call him back. We thought we'd never hear from her (who knows how honest other folks are, right?), but he got a call a little over 30 days later and got to keep that $20 (this was when he was younger). It made an impression on him...and I told him it was because he was honest..the Lord blessed HIM!

Have a great day, Deb!

Hi Deb... WOW, you're the Clean Closet Queen! No easy task, but the end result is terrific.

I will often find a lil bit of money in purses as I switch them back 'n forth... same with coat pockets! I was so moved by your story... thank you for sharing it. How beautifully blessed we all are to have such a forgiving Father!

Thanks for your visits and comments, Deb... I'm just having a rough time trying to keep up with things, lately... I'm so grateful that you've not given up on me...

I hope that the upcoming weekend will be a pleasant one for you. God bless...

Good job on the closet - that's something I need to do. I think most people don't realize that a cashier gets docked in quite a few places if the till is short.
