What do you do when it's gone?

This is a product that I love, Blue Bell Ice Cream. Blue Bell is the best Ice Cream I've tasted down south. They have lots and lots of flavors but my favorites are, Pistachio Almond, Banana Split, Homemade Vanilla, The Ultimate Neapolitan, Rocky Road, and Homemade Vanilla with Strawberries. I said all of that, to say this.

My friend Connie @ Living Beautifully, as a part of one of her recent post suggested the start of a revolution (kidding), because sometime we find products that work wonders in our daily lives and then like POOF! that product is gone. Well now I am for joining the REVOLUTION, so let me jump on my soapbox for a minute.

Here in Alabama we had a company called Barber's, it was famous for Milk and Ice Cream and other dairy products, it's now Mayfield and I don't care for their ice cream so I have become a fan of Blue Bell for my ice cream.

Okay, here's the deal, Barber's use to make a Lemon Sherbet, Oh My Goodness, it was divine. I bought all the store could carry, then one day, (ZERO)! I rushed to question the store manager, he didn't know why he didn't have any but, he thought he'd be getting some in soon. HA! Then when I went back he said, in a few days. I tell you, " IT WAS NEVER"! I called Barber's and they said, didn't sell enough of it so it was discontinued. I WAS DEVASTATED, AND A PART OF ME DIED! It had the favor of an ice cold Mellow Yellow and it even taste as if it were carbonated. It was also so refreshing, I can't express the disappointment to the extent that I actually felt it.

From time to time that Sherbet still crosses my mind, and I say to myself, I wish I had some of that Barber's Lemon Sherbet, that was so good ONCE UPON A TIME. Maybe one of you can think of a product you loved but, IS NO MORE.

Deb,

I can't think of anything that is no more...but my mom is crazy about Blue Bell Ice Cream. My favorite is Rocky Road! I'm so sorry you can't find your ice cream anymore..it sounds great!

I love those things that most folks don't...marshmellow circus peanuts...could eat a whole bag! I hope they always have those around!

I've heard that icecream is simply divine but we don't get it out here.

It's 12:30 AM and it's still 78 outside. Yikes!

I know there must be something but I can't think of anything right now.

Another thing that is annoying is they will change the recipe or ingredients of a favorite product, ever so slightly, but I can tell the difference!

I notice lately that the packages are getting smaller, too, must be the economy.

Thanks so much for the info on the paint and curtains in your den! I cannot wait to tackle our Living Room!

I love your pics from Marshall's and the Thrift Store. I cannot imagine clicking pics in a store...maybe with a friend, but not alone, lol, I would be so self-conscious, but I sure did enjoy your pics, felt like I was right there shopping with you!

Hi Deb
You've heard our Dr Pepper saga. That's the one that I miss. Dr Pepper is still around, but made with corn syrup, not pure cane sugar. How happy happy happy we were when Kari (Granny Skywalker) posted about a trip to the Dr Pepper plant in Dublin TX. That plant is the only one left, bottling Dr Pepper with pure cane sugar. We ordered a case and enjoyed it so much. We will probably order another, sometime. It was a real treat. We made that case of Dr Pepper last almost 2 months.

Hi Deb,

Goat cheese is soft and salty...it's kind of like Feta Cheese, but I like it better than Feta. You can find it in the Adult Cheese section, lol, at just about any grocery store, I usually buy it at Costco, it's cheaper (per pound) there.

Let me know if you try it :)

That is a good idea about the pics...and you *could* be an Interior Designer...you have the knack!!!

Deb, I think you can get onto Jan's blog now. I couldn't get into mine last PM - and there were several others I couldn't get into. Very frustrating. I thot it was my own computer - but this AM I was able to get on and in reading some other blogs, they were having trouble getting on to certain blogs also. I was able to get on to Jan's blog this AM (and couldn't last night either) - so looks like the problem is fixed!!
Thanks for your comments and concern for my knee. You are special.
Hugs.

I think sherbet is about my favorite thing and I haven't had any in a loooooooong time. I love Blue Bell and it's in every store here. And, would you believe, even the cheapest. Walgreens has it, too! Here's a great recipe for you!

you might even be able to use Mountain Dew in there!!!!! Wouldn't that be a hoot!

So sad!

You know, I grew up the Chicagoland area. The food is divine from the restaurants to the bread that you buy in the market. I can' get any of those products here. And when we remember old times, it seems it is always the food that we recall! LOL

So my niece went to Chicago this weekend. We gave her money to bring us back a loaf of Gonnella bread and a pizza from our favorite local pizzeria. I don't care if its cold and a day old. I'll eat with a smile on my face!
