I've Been Tagged For Another Meme

I've been tagged by Rhonda over at Scooterblu's Whimsey. Rhonda is such a lovely person, and I just love visiting her blog. She's a very talented lady. She just about does it all . I found out just yesterday that she is even great at Catering. You should stop by, if you haven't already, she's also popular.

In this Meme I'm to list six unimportant things about me. Now while writing this meme I began to remember some things that were sort of unpleasant at that time, but very funny to me now, so let's have fun with it.

1. I'm 5'7'' tall, I've been this height since six grade and was the tallest in my class, tall and lanky, I always felt like a Giraffe towering over the others. I use to always wear low heel shoes and walk around with my head down, to appear shorter but, instead made myself look like a tall Hunchback. My sister was always yelling at me to hold my head up. I was a mess! Thank God I'm well over that!

2. Also in the six grade I had a surprise attack of warts to show up on one of my knees. About fifteen of them. There was a lot of stuff in the news during that time about Wounded Knee and the boys started to call me that as a nickname. To this day I don't think I know what Wounded Knee was all about, I just know it triggered another traumatic time in my life. I tried using Compound W to remove the warts but, it really didn't do any good, I just woke up one morning somewhere down the road and they had left just as mysteriously as they had come.

3. I wear a size 9 shoe, and that same nine shoe was also in the picture in the six grade. You can imagine how that looked because as I told you before I wore flats. So now I'm 5'7', head down, hunchback, skinny as a rail, with canoes on my feet. I got teased about that too. Wow! I never knew the six grade had caused me so much mental anguish. LOL!

4. Okay I thought of one more, I had my first fist fight in the 6th grade. Of Course! With all the teasing I was getting, it was bound to happen. I remember it was this boy, his name was James Nash, I don't remember what started it but, I know I pulverized him. He thought I was his mama, as tall as I was over him. Uh huh, alright now, six grade, is a done deal.

5. I've always went out of my way not to have a switch when I walk, I see women doing it, but never knew if it was real or fake. I just knew that I didn't want it.

6. I was nineteen years old before I started carrying a purse. Carrying a purse always made me feel as though I was dressed up and I didn't like being dressed up, I was a straight out Tomboy. That's why I was able to take care of James Nash.

Well those things are unimportant now, I think they are. I hope you had a few laughs all of that is so silly to me now. Alright here are the rules:

1) Link back to the person that tagged you.
2) Post the rules on your blog.
3) Share 6 unimportant things about yourself.
4) Tag other bloggers to participate, at the end of your entry.

I'm not going to follow the rules this time, mainly because I just tag 5 last week. But if you find this fun, then play. I had a Blast!

Deb in a fist fight?!! I don't believe that! :) We have something in common. I was 5'8'' in 6th grade and the tallest. I haven't grown since. Everyone pretty much caught up to me or grew taller. And I wear a size 9 1/2, ever since 6th grade. :) Great meme Deb! I'll be making you a new sign this weekend!

I don't quite know how MEME's work (our friend Jan has described it) but it looks like fun!

I loved your description of a sunny day inside.

Very fun meme. Kids really have a rough time about that age - before they really grow into their oversize feet etc. Glad you can laugh about it all now. :)

Deb, I am LOVING your music! I am so excited right now I can't hardly contain myself! LOL! A couple of years ago, I went to a Beth Moore conference, and one of the praise songs was Shackles, by Mary Mary. But at the time I didn't know who wrote it or what the name was! I haven't been able to find it since, and this morning I discovered it on your playlist! I am overjoyed! My son has two other little boys staying with him, and I know I'm a sight...downstairs with this song blaring on the computer, and praising Jesus! And they are unchurched, so this is new to them! Bless their little hearts! LOL! Their mom works with Kevin, and they are a great family...super nice people. He has tried to talk to her for years about Jesus, which she believes in, and going to church...but hasn't happened yet. Keep them in your prayers! ;)

Well, that was a side note I didn't see coming this morning! :)
I loved your tag responses! I bet you will never forget 6th grade, huh? LOL! And I was one of the shortest. I often felt intimidated, because other girls towered over me! Kevin's grandma was tall, and I was so hoping Ashley would take after her...but she is only ONE inch taller than me. LOL! I guess the grass is always greener on the other side!

And I thank you for the verses on anger in the post below. My son is having a little problem with handling his anger, so I plan to share them with him!

Sorry for the long comment! Hope you have a great weekend!

~Hugs, Rhonda ;)

Morning Deb....I'll just holler at you from over here if you don't mind...I don't want to become another 'James Nash' flashback!!! lol lol Girl I loved that but you are gonna faint when I tell you the one about the switch had me confused for a minute,,now you gotta remember I am country...so when you say S.W.I.T.C.H I automatically think of a little hickory switch that mother's carry around to shake at their kids to keep them in line!!! lol lol So I am thinking "who carrys a fake switch" lol lol See what I mean! lol Then It dawned on me that you meant swinging your hips from side to side (please tell me that is what you meant!)lol This was great girl...hope you have a beautiful weekend!!!!

Deb, I just read your Wednesday post and O' my...what a day you had! Sorry to hear you went through all that.

I love your list. My sweet Xanti is 5'7" and has been for awhile. She wears a size 10 shoe. I always tell her to stand tall and keep her head up. I'm 5'2 and 3/4, with little short fat legs. I'm so happy to see Missy Prissy has that lovely ht and those long legs!:-)

Have a wonderful weekend!

Your meme really made me feel like I know you, Deb! Funny how those unimportant things (now) tell so much about you! I love the one about being so careful not to have that swing! (We called it having a swing on your back porch!) lol!

I enjoyed it! I just might have to participate again!

Hi Deb! I was just on Dots spot and have been meaning to leave you a comment! I can totally relate to the height and shoe size in elementary school. I was 5'9" and size 10 and also have gone out of my way to not let the sway get away!!!although now it just kind of does on its own and the feet grew too! Anyway I was laughing and just wanted to say hi! Have a great weekend - Jeannette

5'7" is perfect!! Too bad you didn't know that then. Size 9 is actually very normal. Isn't it terrible that we feel we are being judged for our looks at a young age. I too had a few warts. My poor brother had them over his arms and legs. He had a doctor freeze them off, but they all came back. He went out to the garage at age 12, and used a wood burning kit to burn them off. They never came back. Smart kid. This was fun Deb, I can't imagine you in a fist fight.
My worst year was 4th grade.
I'm glad we can laugh about those years now. Have a great weekend. Kathi

Oh how I would love those extra inches. All the wonderful things I could reach without a ladder. At 5' my feet sometimes don't reach the ground on some couches! LOL

Now I know this is going to sound crazy, but I've heard and read that duct tape cures warts. You are supposed to cut little circles and apply them daily. You might want to google it ... maybe I've been taken. Not sure. But it can't hurt to check it out!

Smiles,
Lea

Your post made me think back....oh my, I think I was born 5' 11" with a size 10 shoe....I cannot remember being "little" or "short" ever! I know where you are coming from! Great blog, by the way...I have enjoyed reading many of your posts.

Deb, thanks for your comment about my squirrel angels. Oh how I enjoyed your 6th adventures. My first daughter got her height in about junior high and was called giraffe by some of the other girls. She always kept her head high and walked so proudly that people thought she was snobby (she wasn't) :)

Wow, did I ever relate to this meme! In 6th grade I was almost 5'10 and even taller than one of my male teachers, also had size 9 feet, and had a C cup bra. It was mortifying. I was 12-13 and looked like I belonged in high school. I stood out like a sore thumb but wanted to be invisible, lol! I didn't hunch over though as my mom would have killed me for that. As long as I live I will hear her words in my brain, "you're going to be a tall girl, hold your head up straight! lol

Nobody ever messed around with me in school though. They were probably afraid that I could eat them!

I had to come meet you because Raxx says that we are both calm women. I'm 5'8" like Kindra and wear a size 9 1/2 too. Too bad we weren't all in school together!
I get a kick out of your photo with the tag on your wrist. So clever!
