Although the devil is crafty, we can't always say the devil made me do it. Can we? I wish I could, but I don't think this will qualify.
I've been having an issue with a collections company that will not for any reason stop calling me. Somehow they have latched on to me with a vengeance. They said that a person with my name took out a loan in 2002. I've never had a loan other than my car, and mortgage loan. The car loan is paid, and I'm still living in the house.
The company they referenced, I've never heard of. When I told them they had the wrong person, they asked if the last four digits of my SS# was xxxx, and it was not. They say that they have a birthday but when I asked what it was, he would not tell me. Furthermore in 2002 my last name wasn't what it is now, because I had not remarried. Now on three separate occasions I have tried to get this resolve but, I am not going to give them my SS#, my birthday, or any other information to do so.
I decided first that I would just not answer the calls anymore, I'm not who they're looking for anyway. Well they just call and call and call. So the other day I answered and asked for the supervisor, his attitude was worse than the people I'd previously spoken with. AND I TOTALLY LOST IT!.
And I do believe what I said had the guy on the other end, looking exactly like the one above, (and he was the provoker). Then I hung up and I became the person in the picture below. So I called back and threw in a one, two, punch.
When it was over, I thought, who was that? Was that me? No, it had to be the devil but, I don't think it was. I've confessed and repented to the Lord, but for some reason it continues to resurface in my mind. So I decided I would confess before and others as well, with hopes that it will become embedded in my spirit, and a lesson to us all when we're about to blow our cool. The scriptures below will help us all in our moments of anger.
Ephesians 4:26-27
In your anger do not sin, Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.
Ephesians 4:29
Ephesians 4:29
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
Ephesians 4:31
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other just as Christ God forgave you.
Proverbs 15:18
Proverbs 15:18
A hot tempered man stirs up dissension, but a patient man calms a quarrel.
Proverbs 19:11
A mans wisdom gives him patience; it is to his glory to overlook an offense.
The issue has not yet been resolved but, while trying to get it resolved I will remember a scripture that was given to me today in my readings, and I do believe it was straight from the Lord for my benefit.
It was Proverbs 25:15 and it says, Through patience a ruler can be persuaded, and a gentle tongue can break a bone.

Well we have our moments of outbursts. :) I hope you put a stop at the repeated phone calls. I bet that is frustrating!! I enjoyed the pictures with the story. :) Have a great day. Do you here your ears ringing? Check out my blog. Oh and I sent you a message through etsy. Trying to figure out what happened with the package. It might take a couple days and I'll let you know. Thanks again for being so patient!
I truly understand your frustration. I'm like you in that I don't like treating others unkindly, but it sometimes happens. Just resolve that no other person will make you lose your "cool", sweet lady, and you'll be fine. You do not have to "confess" to anyone other than the Lord, my little angel!!!
Smoochies and have a better day...
Connie
Deb, I too have lost my cool, and have felt so terrible. I like all of your verses. They are the best method for dealing with issues like these, or any issues.
I know one thing that really helps me is after I have confessed to the Lord, and if I don't FEEL forgiven, I say it out loud..."Lord, Thank you that I AM forgiven. Thank you that You have taken it all away." Satan can't bring it up any more.
I think the people calling you are professional con-artists. You were smart not to give them your private info. They may be able to beat a few people down and con them into giving them those numbers. Once they have them, they can steal from you. Think about it. If you really had taken out a loan from them, they would have those numbers, but they don't. Also, you could ask them what you bought. I bet they don't have a clue. Sorry you have had these kind of creepy people calling you. They are too lazy to find honest work. Enjoy your Wednesday anyway. Your a child of the KING. Kathi
Deb,
You're so funny! I love your illustrations! What we do without you? I know I have those moments. My mom says I'm like my dad about stuff like that (guess I forgot to mention that in my blog about my dad) :)
And thanks for the scriptures. I'm printing them out...(to use on my kids)...just kiddin'..for me too! :)
I'm going to try to answer your meme tag tonight! I hope I can get it all linked right!

I understand your frustration. I've been in a similar situation where I was being targeted by a collector for someone else's debt. They are so agressive.
You are forgiven, however. Our Lord heard your confession. He knows you are repentant. Don't let Satan try and convince you otherwise.
Thanks every body, I just feel so much better now. Deb
I'm still smiling at your illustrations!!!! Believe me, I know what you are going through, as it has happened to me. These companies get a hefty commission if they can get you to pay, whether it's you are not. Sometimes they think that you will eventually pay just out of fear of having your credit ruined ---- they don't care if it's the right person or not!
We all explode sometimes --- and sometimes it is IN OUR HEARTS, which God also sees. Your verses are so wonderful to remember. But isn't forgiveness and cleansing so wonderful for the soul?????? I'll be praying that this will be resolved for you, Deb!!!! And thanks so much for all your prayers for ME!
Cora
Don't get down on yourself too harshly, you're only human and there are bill collectors that are just ungodly rude and horrible! Even though you lost your cool, maybe it put an end to this finally. One thing you might try is to send something in writing requesting that they no longer call your house and if they continue, you will sue them for harrassment. They are not supposed to call you on the phone after that, though they are allowed to send letters. Bill collecters don't care if you are the right person or not, they just want the money. I had a friend who told a bill collecter that all she had was the money she needed to feed her children, and he actually yelled at her and told her to send it to him! Good heavens! I would lose my cool too.

Hey Deb,
You have a right to be very mad, those people who do that for a living are trained on how to be rude. When you sat something or try to explain, They actually have a list of comments to make that is written out for them. I know this because I have a lot of clients that work for a company located here. They also work on a commission type salary too. They are highly trained in rudeness. I was always told if you ask them to stop calling and you tell them all further conversations will be done through an attorney. They cannot legally call your home anymore. Don't let those people ruffle your feathers. Also I came over to let you know I have tagged you for another meme. Oh great huh. Please come over to see what its all about.

Ditto to what the others have said. Even Jesus got angry and threw people and tables around in the temple because they were con men. Thanks for visiting that site I recommended. I didn't try to comment so didn't realize it was restricted. Really pretty kids, huh?
What a tension! How do you resolve the problem? Without the anger? We'll have to lift you up in prayer.
And--BTW--confess it, forgive yourself as God has forgiven you, and move on. :) No need to beat yourself up.
Hey Deb,
I finally got around to the meme and hopefully those links work...I'm sure there has to be an easier way than the way I did it..but at least they're there (I think). So now you can see how interesting I am (NOT)! :)

oh my goodness! That would be sooo frustrating! I understand your anger and I think it is wonderful that you recognized it and repented! We definitely all have our moments! I hope they quit bothering you Deb!!! xoxo
Those calling companies can bring that out in all of us!! We have all had our moments! Your verses are wonderful!
blessings,
kari & kijsa
Hi Deb---everyone's blog that I read talks about you and so I had to come visit!! I loved your post today. I hope everything works out okay. I have had that happen to me--for some reason, companies think they are never in the wrong. Hang in there--come visit some time. Julie
Isn't it wonderful that the Lord forgives when we ask? You are forgiven sister so you can shake that dirt off and move on.
Be very careful about this situation. Scam artists are out there. If this were a legimate collection, wouldn't they have you social security number? If they can't provide it, certainly don't give it. Hoping this is resolved soon. Love that scripture that the Lord gave you. It's perfect ... as always!
Smiles,
Lea
Don't you hate that....... sometimes you just have to get mad though.
Hi Deb, It's Sunday night and I'm just dropping in to see if anything is new with you!
Hugs, Rhonda :)
Deb, I thought of you today when I was in the grocery store. I snapped at the bagger in the lane next to me who was just watching me struggle with two kids while I was bagging my own groceries. She didn't have any customers to help and my blood pressure was going higher and higher as I wrestled with the kids and the groceries.
I should have just asked for help but instead I snipped. Not very nice. Ugh. That's not like me.
