RE - AWARDED! & I must get back in the yard

First thing, I was asked by Rhonda of Scooterblu's Whimsey to accept the RE- awards of both the awards that I awarded to her. ( Did I get it right, Rhonda?) well my answer is.....YES! YES! OF COURSE ! I will gladly accept them, friend. Rhonda has a beautiful blog, beautiful personality, and a beautiful home. There's a must see, where she attended the High School Reunion of quite a few members of her husband's family, as it was for the graduates from the 1940's thru 1960's, it was full of fun, history and wonderful pictures. Stop by Rhonda's I'm sure you will enjoy.

Thanks, Rhonda you're kind too!

Second thing, ladies some places in my yard is not looking the way that I want, so I'm going to have to take today, and tomorrow, to make the progress that I should have already made. So I don't think I'll be posting those days. (think) :O) I told you all in my meme, that I get consumed by things, and most of the time don't get things done I that should. This is something that needs to be done but something I love doing. When I post on Friday, I will have an update on my weight loss progress, new pictures, same outfit, and a update of how everything went for me on the diet this week. As I walked around the yard this morning, I did notice a few things that were doing well and some that weren't so I will share.

The Lambs Ear was in bloom.

My friends were fine.

The blackberry blossoms were gorgeous.

The little frog was happy!

This plant was beautiful and standing tall.

This one was lying down.

The window boxes were doing ok.

So was everything here.

But the fence outback, I don't know what I can do to make this fence look better, it's horrible. It's structurally sound but it looks dead. I want to paint it the trim color on the house, (shown in the next picture) or I could try some kind of vine to hide it, what do you think?

I thought if I paint it this color only on the inside, not the side that's visible to the street, it would look better and would be faster than waiting for vines to mature enough to cover it. Well there's so much to do, so off I go, but I'll be visiting with you. Until Friday take care. Deb

Hi Deb! Congratulations on your re-award! I've gotten them from you and Rhonda too, so later this week I'll be passing them along to others. Thank you again for your thoughtfulness!

Oh, I know what you mean about getting consumed by things and not getting other stuff done. It's one of my biggest problems! Your window boxes are very pretty. I think I'd like to try some of those too. Regarding your fence, what about some lattice panels with fast growing vines? You could do painted lattice to break up the solid color of the wood. We have a long, boring fence in our bakc yard, plus the long boring garage wall and that's what I'm planning to do with them (actually, what I'm planning to have hubby do to them). Have fun in your yard and enjoy the spring weather! Can't wait to hear of your progress!

Deb, I love your screened porch. The people building the new house up the street and over from us, are having a screened porch added to the area off their bedroom. That will be great!

Your yard is looking good and I know what you mean about getting consumed by things!

I like the idea of vines on your fence.

Hi Deb...
I was happy to see your kind post... thanks so much. You asked where I find things/graphics that I use in my posts. Most are found online from hours of just bouncing from one site to another. Some are from friends. If you need something specific, doing a Google Images Search is usually successful. I've been saving art that I like for about 10 years now. If you ever need something, just let me know, please. I'd be more than happy to help you out.

I just really enjoyed seeing your yard pictures. You make it seem like I am actually there! Loved the frog alot!! I liked the idea of vines for your fence, Deb. Also, while waiting for vines to grow; perhaps a few rows of sunflowers of assorted sizes? OR perhaps some morning glories? I think both are fast growing, but I don't have green thumbs! Just some thoughts.

You remain in my prayers and thoughts Deb. I'm so proud of your determination with your journey to better health ~Keep Going~ Enjoy your time outdoors and I'll be looking for you soon! God Bless.

~hugs~

Hey Deb...
Got your comment about flowers... I've never heard of Sunflowers coming up all around like that; but as much as birds like the seeds, I can see where it could happen. Where I live, there are a few Sunflower fields. I get tickled 'cause you can always count on seeing several stray stalks of corn growing throughout the field. Ohhh... now I am going to be wanting fresh corn on the cob! Have a blessed evening, Sweetie...

Deb, Thanks for the tour of your garden. Everything looks beautiful. I was wondering if power washing your fence might help?? I have bee getting a lot done in the yard. Now, it's raining. I actually don't care if it rains for a couple of days. I brought all of my patio furniture and potted plants into the garage. There was a chance for hail. Have a great night!! Hugs, Terrie

Your gardens are lovely, Deb!

I think morning glories would be perfect for your fence so that you can keep it natural. You can plant the vines by seed now and by late June those quick growing vines will be covered with colorful blossoms. Just be sure to soak the seeds for 24 hours in warm water before planting so that they germinate well. And remove the spent blossoms every evening so you get lots & lots of blooms.

Just today I planted some purple & red morning glories along with moonflower which is a fragrant white flower that opens at night. So the morning glories open in the a.m. then close when the moonflowers open in the p.m. It's glorious! And our morning glories bloomed until 1st frost last year.

But whatever you choose, it will be lovely like the rest of your garden! You're doing a lovely job. And the screen house is dreamy as well!

Blessings,
Lea

Hi Deb cograts on your reawards!!! loving your flowers too!! If you can get a power washer it will get rid of all that old look to your fence!! I am serious our deck looked like that when we bought the house and we bought a power washer a couple of weeks ago and unbelievably it lookd almost brand new again!!! So get you one and see for yourself!!lol..Also we too thought it was a little rabbit chomping down my tulips we see him or her run around here!! So I will have to look for something to keep it away from my plants!!! Have a great time in your gardens my friend!!!Blessings!~wendy

Your yard looks beautiful! I love the little lizard.

We have a fence like that too and we are going to stain it and then I'm going to get some trellis and clinging vines to make it look brighter. You might try something like that.
