Tablescape Thursday ~A Romantic Table For Two~

Welcome to Tablescape Thursday, hosted by our lovely Susan, at Between Naps On The Porch. Please stop by to visit her many, many, other participants as the numbers continue to grow.
My tablescape idea for this week, all began with this bowl. I found two at my favorite store (Ross) for 2.99 each.

I needed something to compliment them, and I found these plates and thought they were perfect together. A jeweled look for myself, and a masculine look for my husband, as I will be using these two together, for an intimate dinner for two.

I've added to the above, a silver charger...

...and to below, this beautiful flatware that I found at Marshall's moving sale a couple of months ago. It's an eight piece service, with serving set. I only paid 42.00 at 60% off.

Here, you see all the silver effects. The table cloth is silver and brown. I found it at Ross for 5.49. The brand name is Berkshire. I love how all these things compliment each other.
A close-up of the main characters...

...and everthing put together. My husband and I always eat in our den, so I set the coffee table so we can dine and do our favorite thing (watch TV) LOL!!!

The stemware is Luigi Bormioli (found them at Ross) they are 20 and 22oz glasses.

This ice bucket was found at a little Antique shop, it has a top that goes with it. The silver tray I found at a thrift shop it's the middle size of a set of three and I paid about 19.00 for all three. I wish I could use them all the time but I would be constantly cleaning them.

Everything here is not perfect as I would like, when I actually do this, I plan to have fresh flowers where I'm using faux. All in all I'm looking forward to this evening which will be soon. I'll tell you all about it.

Here I'm playing around with some effects on my camera. I think it's makes a pretty picture.

Thanks for joining me, as I look forward to visiting most of you! The number of participants keep growing and it is making it difficult to visit everyone, but I'll try! Deb

Great table! The last picture with the black and white type effect looks like an old movie set. I can imagine either Fred or Ginger eating there or Bogie and Bacall. Very romantic, yet sophisticated. great job! :D Jewel

Your table is a beauty! I love the way you pulled it all together. Gotta tell you, I scrolled back and read about the mismatched shoes...well, I did that one day as a high school teacher - can you imagine! It really was funny, I laughed my head off, too. Linda

Very pretty! I especially love the flatware. Many, many, many years ago Ralph Lauren used to have some flatware called "Watchband" that was similar to that one. It was always on my "drool" list. I just loved the texture of your flatware. I really liked that tablecloth too.

Oh and girl...I read that other post on the shoes...DEB!!!! How old did you say you were now!!!! lol lol Don't feel bad..I use to have the habit of getting ready for church and just wearing my pink fuzzy slippers until I walked out the door..then I'd put my heels on...wellll one day we drove all the way to the church and I went to get out and looked down at those PINK FUZZY SLIPPERS!!!! Had to go all the way back home....but I had an excuse for my looniness...5 young kids!! lol

I absolutely love this tablescape! Isn't it wonderful when you find such great inspiration pieces!! The champagne bucket is a perfect touch. I love your last picture where you tinted it blue in certain places. I'm going to have to learn how to do that.

Deb, this is lovely! Those bowls are beautiful, and I love the flatware. If you hadn't told me your flowers were faux, I wouldn't have known it. I bet your husband won't either! laurie

Hi Deb...this Tablescape looks so classy...just like you. I love your new flatware! BTW, I have so much trouble bringing your blog up...sometimes it takes 6-7 minutes & sometimes I have to boot up again after it totally shuts down. I wonder if anyone else has mentioned they have trouble...I did notice you have blog posts dating back to May 2008 on your main page and it is taking forever to bring up all of these posts...Do you think that's why it takes so long to retrieve your blog? ;-) Bo

Hi Deb,

Thanks for your visit to my blog. Your tablescape looks great, I really like the blue with the silver. Can't wait to hear what you have in store for it.

I read your profile, so very sorry to hear about the loss of your daughter. My nephew just lost his wife last week, leaving 4 small children behind ages from 4 to 11, so dealing with greif is foremost in my mind right now. My heart goes out to you. May God Bless.

Hugs
