Still a million things to do!

I have three of my grandsons over, and will possibly add a fourth. I have set up a few things that will possibly keep them occupied. I never finished my plans to get some work done around the house but, I'm going to still try.

I have the tent, in the backyard and have put in a TV with the VCR built-in they can watch old movies.

They have also taken a few toys and video games out there. If it gets too hot, I will make them come in but so far it's been cloudy. These are some pictures I took yesterday. It's suppose to rain today, I'll keep watch. I may let them play in the pool if no thunder storms are in the forecast.

Here they are, they thought they would be brave enough to spend the night out there but the little one on the right wanted to know what was the noise in the trees last night, and once he came in the others followed. They are too funny!

I never finished my plans to get some of the work done around the house. I'm still in the process of getting things thinned out around here, someday I would like to have only what I need, a place for everything and everything in it's place. Do you think there's is such a home? Anyways I'm still behind, haven't had the yard sale or put things together for one, but I had to be there for my dad because for some reason the elderly don't get the attention they should in these hospitals. If you have elderly relatives in the hospital, go and tend to them because the hospital staff won't help them eat or hand them a tissue if they need it. We had and issue with one of the nurses saying that my dad, loves the call button which I thought was inappropriate for her to say to us, so I did let her know that if someone would show up from time to time he wouldn't need to stay on it. My father has arthritis in his hands and his finger tips are curled over and he can't do a lot of things for himself, and we did have issues concerning the care he got in the hospital. But he's home and we won't be worrying over his care, I thank God for that and thank you all again for your prayers. Now it's time for a little excitement! I have purchased new furnishings for my den, YAY! they will deliver it on the 17th, so I have to get the room painted and the trim done before it comes. I will also be getting back into the swing of things with my diet, NAY! :O(

I'm going to start taping off my window panes this evening, for my trim work and I'll keep you posted. Deb

Your grandsons are so cute! What fun to camp out in grandma's backyard! And it sounds like you are going to be busy. There's always house profects, isn't there?! Can't wait to see it all when it's done!

And yes, the nurse's comment was uncalled for! Being a nurse, I understand where the patient is coming from. I have dealt with some rude nurses in my life...maybe they're all overworked. Who knows, but I think it's better to keep comments like that to themseleves. I miss working with the elderly, that was my favorite. I miss it now and then.

Those grandbabies are adorable! What fun they must have had in the tent!

Sorry to hear that your father had some problems in the hospital. It's good that you were able to be there to advocate for him. I hope you were able to talk to someone about the care he got while there. I'm just so happy that you were able to bring him home already.

New furniture! So much fun! Can't wait to see it.

Looks like a fun time with the Grands!
I agree with being an advocate when a loved one is in the hospital. Staff is overworked these days, and that comment was inappropriate. Glad you were there to help.
Hurrah for new furniture. That's always a lift.
Hugs.

Hi Deb

We got home from the lake yesterday and I've been visiting today. I am just learning about your father. I'm so sorry! When J was in the hospital there was an elderly gentleman who really needed attention. Finally, they moved him across from the desk so they could hear him. J would call the staff to tend to him, because he didn't understand what he had to do to get someone to the room.

It's good to hear your dad is home again!

We have a mess in the master closet that really needs my attention. I'm ignoring it for at least one more week, though!

Looks like your guys are having a good time! Take it easy on yourself..sounds like you did great, even if you were having fast food!

Have a wonderful week.

Deb, don't pay attention to those insensitive clods that say that about your dady, my sweet country chick. He has you and that's what's important. I've missed your blogging, my little chickadee!! I'm traveling and checking/catching up on blogs! Whoooooo, I'm 122 behind! What style are you decorating in now? Let me know, my little dove...... :-)

Hi Deb... Those are some totally cute grandson's you have there! You're so sweet to set up such a neat tent and provide a loving and exciting place for them to visit!

I was sad to hear about the comment from the nursing staff while your Dad was in the hospital, but so proud of you for standing up, advocating, and caring for him as you did and do. I have had more situations like that, than I care to even think about... and each time, I speak up, and I also contact the nursing supervisor and hospital admin. Maybe some would say that I over-react... ~shrugs~ Perhaps I do, but there is no way I am going to sit back and have my family talked to/treated that way. You once again make me soooo PROUD!

Oooooooooooooooo new furniture! I'm tickled for you and am looking forward to seeing your latest creative design! Your energy level amazes me!!

I have missed your posts and am so glad you are back... my continued prayers are going up for your Dad to keep moving forward with his health. My prayers for you, too, my friend, as you tackle so many projects and remain a loving and caring wife, daughter, grandmother, friend... God Bless...

~hugs 'n love~

I love that picture of your grandsons in the tent! That is so cute! It sounds like what might happen around here...everyone piling in after a bit!

I know, it seems like house projects multiply around here...but at least we're here to do it...and can do it!

Have a great week, Deb!

The Marvin Sapp song playing in the backdrop is one of the most inspirational songs I've ever known.

I would also like to add that you are a terrific mother. Not that my mom was horrible, but I didn't experience those kinds of pictures, growing up. LOL. Hope all is well. I am sure it is.

Hang in there friend-we went thru the same issues when our son was in teh hospital-they kept coming to draw blood on our little one-we have to watch him 24-7 most of the orders were messed up and such as well-we had to keep our own notes!
I am so excited for you and your den furniture!!! Can't wait to see it!!

They are so cute Deb :)

I was always too chicken to stay out in the yard myself LOL

The nurses I have come across in hospitals are hardly ever nice. They were nasty to my brother when he was there recently. People in general just aren't that nice anymore. I'm just happy your dad is home now :)

rue

They look like they had so much fun in the tent. My son loves to build one in the house with covers.

I am so glad you were able to be there for your father. It can take forever to get something in a hospital, and it's not the same as having someone there who loves you.

Dear Deb, It has been way too long, you've probably forgotten who I am, but I like reading your blog...oh, I'm tired and just going on... Anyway-the ordeal with your Dad sounds like a nightmare. My Dad was in the hospital not that long ago, and we were so lucky that the nursing staff there is excellent. I'm glad your Dad is home(so is mine). Your diet is great! What are you doing? Grandkids are handsome...Wish we could sleep out here, but we're afraid of bear and raccoons. Take care.Love, Debra
